Getting Nancy through to the Darkside...

What a week The first full week of teaching and all I have done is watch a wonderful student in my classroom and marvel at the skills and talents that she has and that I didnt have at the same stage in my career
My dad came to fit the cat flap for Nancy yesterday and most of my time has been spent convincing her that it isnt a monster AND that she will be free to come and go as she pleases. WHAT A PERFORMANCE to commemorate the occasion I have created a set of beads which are designed to reflect the claws flying fur and blood mine nor hers involved in the process of introducing Nancy to the cat flap...
I have also made another set of experimental beads playing with Val Coxs Silver Lake and Heliotrope frit. Quite a juicy outcome as you will soon see.

It has a lot of silver in so I had to wear my mask which added to the fun as it made my glasses mist up how we artists suffer
Now I have to brave the freezing cold and dark danger of ghosties to retrieve said beads to bake them. Might wait while tomorrow...
Tomorrow heralds my first day back in the classroom since Easter 2010 it will be strange to be taking a step in a different direction but I am looking forward to being with the children again. I missed the connection with the children when I was acting and used to spend a lot of time visiting classrooms just so I could touch base ...
